The Great Fact BBSS is an online Alcoholics Anonymous group offering weekly meetings that provide an in-depth exploration of the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous.
We follow the Hyannis Big Book Step Study format, which emphasizes a structured approach to working the 12 Steps as they are outlined in the Big Book.
We start by reading the Big Book together, picking up where we left off the previous week. After the reading, a lead speaker shares their experience with the step being focused on that week. This is followed by shorter shares from other members who meet the sharing requirements (see below).
To ensure the focus remains on the solution offered by the Big Book, we have a few guidelines for sharing:
-- You must have worked all 12 Steps as outlined in the Big Book with a sponsor. This means working the steps in order, with a sponsor who is familiar with the Hyannis format and can guide you through the process.
-- You must have made at least two amends. Amends are a vital part of Step 9 and demonstrate a commitment to taking responsibility for past actions.
-- You must have a daily practice of Steps 10, 11, and 12.
These steps help maintain sobriety and are essential for continued recovery.
If you are currently working on your 4th Step or beyond, you are welcome to share your experience with Steps 1, 2, and 3 when those steps are the focus of the meeting.
Our aim is to create a safe and supportive space where members can share their experience, strength, and hope related to working the 12 Steps as outlined in the Big Book. These requirements help ensure that the meeting stays focused on the solutions offered by the program.
We welcome everyone who wants to learn more about the Big Book and the 12 Steps. If you don't meet the sharing requirements, you are still encouraged to attend and listen to the shares. This can be a valuable way to learn about the program and prepare for your own step work.

Reach out to members of the group who have worked the steps in this format. They may be able to offer suggestions or introduce you to potential sponsors.
While we follow the traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous, The Great Fact BBSS is an independent online meeting.
